PRESSURE TESTER |
To measure the static pressure
Make sure no water is being used inside or outide the home.
Attach the flow gauge to an outside tap nearest to where the main line enters the property.
Make sure the tap is closed before you connect the gauge.
Connect the pressure testing gauge to the tap
Make sure the presure testing gage is closed.
Slowly open the outside tap and when fully opened, read the system static pressure and record it. (example 4 Bar)
To measure the dynamic pressure and litre-per-minute rates
Open the flow gauge tap slowly and adjust to lets say 3 Bar
Dynamic or working pressure is the pressure in the system with the water running.
The dynamic pressure will determine how far your sprinklers will spray.
Place a 5-litre container or bucket under the outlet of the gauge and note the time how long it takes to fill it at 3,5 Bar.
Take readings at 3 - 2,5 and 2 Bars.
When designing your own system, use the highest of the three readings. Do not exceed the recommended flow for your sprinklers, as shown on the Sprinkler Performance Chart in Rotary Sprinklers & Spray Sprinklers Catalogues
